The aim of this study was to determine the role of parental communication patterns in the family the quality of interpersonal relationships and attachment styles of mothers in predicting the severity of symptoms of attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder in children. The research method is descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the present study included all children with attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder in Qom in 2021 from which 270 people were selected by convenience sampling. Data were analyzed using the Ritchie & Fitzpatrick (1990) Revised Communication Patterns Scale Herwitz et al. (1988) Interpersonal Problems Scale the Hazen and Shaver Adult Attachment Styles Questionnaire (1987) and the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Questionnaire. Snape (1980) was collected. Analysis of findings through Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis showed that there was a significant negative correlation between dialogue orientation and secure attachment styles with the severity of ADHD symptoms and between conformity orientation and relationship quality. There is a significant positive correlation between interpersonal and fearful attachment styles busy and distant atmosphere with the severity of symptoms of failure disorder (p <0.05). The results also showed that compliance quality of interpersonal relationships dialogue and fearful attachment style play a role in predicting the severity of the symptoms of failure disorder.
